GENERAL PRACTITIONERS (GP'S)

Dr Rafal Hirmiz
A bit about me:
Specialist General Practitioner
Owner and Principal GP of Gisborne Medical Clinic, and Founder of Turning Point Medical.
She has been practising General Practice since 2019, with experience across the Macedon Ranges and Sunbury.
Dr Hirmiz provides holistic, evidence-based care across General Practice, with interests in menopause and women’s health, sexual health, musculoskeletal medicine, mental health and neurodiversity.
Menopause and women’s health are key areas of her practice. She provides comprehensive, individualised care, taking time to discuss symptoms, hormonal changes, sleep, mood, sexual wellbeing and libido. She offers detailed consultations around MHT, including testosterone therapy where appropriate, helping women make informed decisions about their health.
Dr Hirmiz also has extensive additional training in sexual health and provides a safe, confidential and inclusive space to discuss sensitive concerns, including STI screening and treatment, HIV prevention and care, PrEP and PEP, contraception, sexual wellbeing, psychosexual concerns and gender-affirming care.
Musculoskeletal medicine is another strong area of interest. She manages joint, muscle, tendon and sports-related conditions using a practical, evidence-based approach. She incorporates musculoskeletal ultrasound into assessment where appropriate and provides ultrasound-guided injections when clinically indicated. She has undertaken advanced ZedU training and regularly uses point-of-care ultrasound.
Dr Hirmiz also has an interest in mental health, ADHD and neurodiversity, providing a supportive and non-judgemental environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their individual needs.
Turning Point Medical was born from Dr Hirmiz’s experience in General Practice and her desire to create a place where every patient feels genuinely heard and cared for. Her vision is to provide individualised, compassionate care that meets each person where they are and helps make their own turning point possible.
